The next time you would go to save the picture in that format again - it pops up again to enter a serial AGAIN. And same thing. if correct serial is provided - it will allow to save the pic BUT. Basically - one would need to enter there serial every time.

Seems like plugin doesn't memorize the serial. Or maybe the computer reboot is needed? Or any other correct way to register a plugin with a proper serial? That's another subject matter already. And SURELY a workable alternative (thanks!) BUT above, I was, specifically, just asking about registration with a proper serial (describing the situation in detail) That's all:-) Other than that. I hardly use that JP2 format as well.

Even though tried to save few times in that format. With default settings. and an Image DID turn out to be a sharp looking one, good quality one AFAIA you do not need to 'register' any Irfanview Plugins - if you followed directions to update your Irfanview version, then returned to Irfan's website to download the latest Plugins, as soon as they are installed - they automatically install to correct folder. What you do need to do, is reset your file associations.

It's great that you don't need to uninstall previous versions before downloading the latest - however, this is inclined to make you forget to reset those file extensions. Having just downloaded v 4.5 (plus plugins) for myself & everything running as per - just assisted a friend through procedure - turned out she had omitted to alter the file extensions which of course needed resetting. Bit late in the day - having only just seen your query - but hope this helps.
